Protecting our water, keeping property taxes low and creating a dynamic community are possible goalposts for the upcoming Council.

It has been an honour to represent Ward 3 on Springfield’s Council these past 4 years. I was active and vocal on sharing concerns and ideas within the council chamber regarding the proposed silica mine, unfair restrictions put on residents who asked to speak to council, fighting against wasteful and unfair spending (voted against the budget increases in 2025 and 2026), and many more issues.

I co-hosted 4 community public outreach and engagement sessions (Cooks Creek, Oakbank, Dugald and Anola), advocated to improve roads and dust control, answered and responded to all resident inquiries promptly and supported more seniors housing now unfolding in Springfield. A positive voice creates opportunity and listening ears!

There are new opportunities for crime prevention with a proposed community safety officer/bylaw enforcement program instead of the former Springfield Police Service, saving upwards of $200,000 or more a year alone. I have been pushing for the new Recreation Centre in Oakbank to obtain federal grants to save dollars locally and I will continue to do so.

Springfield has so much opportunity, being one of the richest municipalities in Manitoba. Its critical to have fiscally responsible members of council to be stewards of your tax dollars. I bring that to the table with over 30 years of management experience.

Ward 3 is mostly rural and protecting its character is paramount and yes development/expansion in the urban centres of Springfield is inevitable. Smart development (for both housing and business) with local input and support is crucial. I will always listen to residents concerns before any decision is made on any subdivision within our ward. Your voice is my voice on the council chamber. I humbly ask for your vote on October 28 to keep the safeguards on and the positive momentum forward.
